The Samaritans shop re-opens bigger, brighter and better than ever

It's official! The Samaritans shop in Lancaster is open again after Storm Desmond - it's bigger, brighter and better than ever.

For those that remember, the shop was badly flooded last December during Storm Desmond, and since then teams of volunteers have worked hard to see the charity shop re-open.

It’s now bigger, brighter and better than ever – literally, as one of the internal walls came down during the flood and created a bigger floor space for the shop!

The fundraising brought in through the shop ensures that Lancaster and District Samaritans can play a huge role in offering this 24/7 listening service to anyone who contacts the Samaritans. It’s no exaggeration to say this charity is a lifeline to those in need and I’m pleased to see Lancaster Samaritans rising from the floodwaters stronger than ever and looking to recruit more volunteers for their shop. If you want to know more about volunteering, email or drop into the informal information evening in the Sun Street centre from 6-7pm on the last Tuesday of each month.
